{"id":3203,"date":"2026-01-29T10:38:38","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T09:38:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ournormal.org\/?p=3203"},"modified":"2026-02-25T14:01:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T13:01:35","slug":"new-report-insights-on-universal-design-within-citiverse-and-digital-twin-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ournormal.org\/en\/new-report-insights-on-universal-design-within-citiverse-and-digital-twin-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"New report: Insights on universal design within Citiverse and digital twin technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cI want to go there now!\u201d is based on survey responses from more than 200 families with children with disabilities \/ a broad diversity of abilities, in-depth interviews with families and young people, and field studies conducted at public events. This forms the basis for identifying four main types of barriers:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attitudinal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sensory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information-related<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The report shows how factors such as a lack of information, uncertainty, and a high level of sensory input often lead to limited participation \u2013 despite a strong desire to be part of city life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Based on these experiences, five areas are identified in which Citiverse and digital twin technology can make a difference:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparation and planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wayfinding and Navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communication and information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engagement and inclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adaptability and real-time responsiveness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u201cI want to go there now!\u201d serves as a foundation for continued work within the EU funded project &#8216;European Citiverses Uniting for Inclusiveness&#8217;, and represents an important step toward more inclusive and equitable urban and event experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<section class=\"pdf-files-block\">\n\t<div class=\"container pdf-files-block__inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"section-grid has-heading-items\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"section-grid__logo col-1 \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"pdf-files-block__title\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRead and download the report\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"pdf-files-block__heading section-grid__heading col-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"section-grid__heading__preamble richtext pdf-files-block__desc\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThis is a preview of the report as a PDF.
