OURNORMAL.ORG
Our Normal (hereinafter referred to as «ON»), is a web-based service that helps families of children with disabilities to find and connect with each other. By agreeing to these Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as “the Terms”), you agree to only use ON for that purpose. Please read the Terms carefully before using ON. ON is run by “Our Normal Association”, organization number 802499-1641 (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”). By becoming an ON member, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Association reserves the right to amend these Terms by posting the amended Terms on ournormal.org. Amendments shall automatically take effect thirty (30) days after being posted on ournormal.org or when you otherwise agreed to them. If you have any questions concerning these Terms, you may submit them to info@ournormal.org.
1. REGISTRATION AND USER ACCOUNT
- By agreeing to these Terms, you affirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- By becoming a member, you agree that all information you provide, with the exception of your email address and password, will be posted on ON. This means that all other information that you enter on your family’s profile page will be visible to other ON members.
- Only one ON account is allowed per person.
- As a member, you are ultimately responsible for keeping your username and password secret. As a member, you are also responsible for all ON activity that takes place through your account.
- The Association and its representatives, employees, and partners assume no liability for any direct or indirect damages or loss of data or commercial activity incurred by a member or third party due to the use of ON.
- As a member, you may at any time delete your own profile via the website. Should a problem persist, please contact us at info@ournormal.org so that we can either help rectify the issue or delete the account.
2. RESTRICTIONS ON USE
- The following are strictly prohibited:
– use of ON for advertising, sales of goods or services, or any other form of commercial use;
– the download and dissemination of information from ON or use of such for the purpose of spam, advertising, or sales of goods or services; and
– posting contact information directly in a profile presentation or in images. - Members who violate any of the above terms will be immediately blocked from ON.
3. CODE OF CONDUCT
- The Association strives to create a sincere and welcoming website that is characterized by respect and kindness. You therefore agree to behave appropriately and follow the code of conduct as set out in this section.
- Contacts that are made shall be characterized by respect and a friendly tone. Use the same tone that you would use if you were to meet the person in real life. Keep in mind that we know very little about each family’s individual situation and that circumstances and moods can vary greatly. In addition, the following rules apply to communication between members. The following are strictly prohibited:
a. personal attacks;
b. comments with the intent to create outrage or irritation (trolling) or disseminate misleading information;
c. spam;
d. sales and other marketing;
e. counselling and medical guidance;
f. crude and offensive language;
g. pornographic or sexual content and other nudity that can be perceived as offensive;
h. all discriminatory forms of address as regards, for example, identity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or religion; and
i. political and religious propaganda. - As a member, you agree to always respect other members’ possible wishes to not be contacted.
4. CONTENT
- Posting images and texts on ON without prior approval of the material’s copyright owner is prohibited.
- The Association is not responsible for information posted by members on ON or actions that members carry out based on their interpretation of ON’s content. The Association does not screen members’ own content before it is posted, though ON does regularly review as much posted material as possible in order to prevent violations.
- The Association is not responsible for any content to which ON has a link; neither the content of other websites, blogs, or forums nor of other user-generated content pages (“third party websites”).
- Profile photos may not depict anyone other than you and your family members nor may they contain falsities in general. All parties must consent to the posting of a photo in which they are depicted. In the case of children under 18 years of age, the consent of a legal guardian is required.
- As a member you hereby confirm that you, as legal guardian, have the right to make decisions regarding your child and that you have the right to post pictures and information concerning your child.
- The Association does not accept posts of images, videos, texts, or other content which we find offensive, threatening, illegal, racist, or discriminatory.
5. ACTIONS TAKEN UPON MISUSE/ABUSE
- As ON’s goal is to create a support network that improves the quality of life for families of children with disabilities, we reserve the right to contact account owners who have posted content for which there is the slightest of doubts concerning the content’s purpose and immediately remove information that conflicts with ON’s goals.
- Members are expected to play a part in this and report violations to the Association via info@ournormal.org or by using the “report this profile” button that is available on every profile page.
- ON reserves the right to refuse membership or at any time cancel an existing membership if the Terms are not followed.
6. CONFIDENTIALITY
- The Association will never disseminate/share/disclose any data that members have registered with ON (neither email, password, nor personal information) to any third party, except as required by law. You can read more details on how we manage data in our Privacy Policy.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
- ON and its original content, features, functionality, and design elements are, and will remain in perpetuity, the exclusive property of the Association.
- The rights to the “Our Normal” trademark and the logo used are owned by the Association.
- These intellectual property rights may not be used in association with any product or service without prior written consent of the Association.
8. TERM OF AGREEMENT AND TERMINATION
- These Terms take effect on the date on which you agree to them. All members may at any time terminate their personal membership account without giving prior notice.
9. DISPUTES AND APPLICABLE LAW
- These terms are subject to Swedish law. Disputes that arise from these Terms shall ultimately be settled by Swedish courts, of which the Gothenburg District Court shall be the first instance.You can read more about our Privacy Policy here.
