RF SISU Västra Götaland (RF SISU) had recently launched inclusive sports schools in several municipalities and wanted to expand. But to grow sustainably, they saw the need to better reach and engage children and youth with disabilities. That’s when they turned to Our Normal for support.

The Assignment
The project was based on Our Normal’s innovation process for inclusive and universal design, focusing on four steps: Empirical insights, Analysis, Ideation, and Prioritization. The aim was to understand the needs of the target group and develop concrete actions to strengthen participation and inclusion in the sports schools.
Approach
We collected insights through a digital survey and interviews with parents of children with different abilities, ages, and living conditions. The analysis focused on the full participant journey – before, during, and after an activity.
The findings formed the basis for a collaborative workshop with RF SISU, where we co-developed a roadmap for continued work.
